For years, the kind folks in Northeast Alabama have been coming to Tennessee for our races. They asked us to bring some Awesomesauce down to Alabama. Be careful what you wish for!

THE COURSE
The course is a multi-loop gravel 3-ish mile path. It’s mostly flat, with a little trail-ish section with a couple of short hills that aren’t much more than speed bumps. You’ll pass the aid station each time around. (More on that in a minute…)

14(ish) hour time limit on ALL distances. If you are still on the course and close to finishing, we’ll stick around until you’re done. We are a WALKER-FRIENDLY event.
The Aid Station:
The beauty of a looped course is that our aid station is HUGE, with everything you could possibly want to eat. You’ll find the usual energy gels, oranges, bananas, Gatorade, and water, but we take things a few steps further. A variety of candy, including (but not limited to) M&Ms – plain and peanut, Skittles, Twizzlers, gummy bears, Sour Patch Kids, Hershey bars, peanut butter cups, Snickers, peppermint patties, Butterfingers, Kit Kats, 3 Musketeers, Milky Ways, Twix. There will also be pretzels, a variety of potato chips, Cheetos and cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hummus and olive wraps, boiled potatoes with salt, bacon, and more!
Once we get into the afternoon, we’ll be grilling up burgers and hot dogs (vegetarian types too!), making pizza and grilled cheese and bacon and egg sandwiches, and we’ll have out a variety of soups and chili. The food stays out until the last runner finishes.
All races begin at 8am, Central Time. Packet pickup opens at 7am, Central Time. There is no Friday packet pickup.
Your registration fee includes a large camping-style coffee mug, a wooden finisher’s medal for all distances, all the food you can eat from Saturday morning until the last runner finishes, the best support crew in the world, and a rocking good time! A portion of every runner’s registration fee will be donated to Hazel Green High School.
The most important thing to remember is that our focus is on FUN. Only a handful of people ever have a real chance of winning any race. Our crew caters to the 99% – the ones who will never win but who still deserve an amazing race experience. If you think you’re signing up for an uber-competitive, super-speedy race, we hate to disappoint you, but that’s not what this is. But if you like hanging out with fun people, if you like giving or receiving high fives, if you think loud music and cowbells are essential, if you are more worried about having a good time vs. winning, if you like being spoiled, if you like fun surprises, if you want to be with people who truly enjoy your company and want to see you succeed, we hope you join us, because you’re just the kind of person we want to hang out with!
